Due to strong demand from our clients abroad, we have selected an essential collection of papers and pads for Sumi-E calligraphy and asian traditional painting. We are the only retailer in Europe for the famous Korean Hanji Paper. A mulberry fiber-based paper, work very well in collage, printmaking, and bookmaking. It is also ideal for traditional Korean paper crafts such as "Joomchi", paper felting, and "Jiseung", or cording, which includes creating traditional paper baskets, and other functional paper crafts found in everyday life.

Kozo dried pulp

Kozo dried pulp : 100 gr of dry kozo pulp (white)  for use with Awagami's "Kami-no-moto" paper making kit (Sold online too) or other paper making setups. There is enough to make approx 50 postcards. Pulp can also be used for relief or sculptural artworks. To use, simply soak in luke warm  water for 10 minutes and then gently pull appart to disperse the fiber in the water. Use neri powder to evenly suspend the kozo fibers within water for easier sheet-forming.

Neri awagami

Neri awagami powder used to suspend washi fibers in water : Chemical Neri is a Japanese papermaking material used to suspend the fibers in a vat of water. This chemical Neri comes in a powder form, and has an indefinite shelf life so long as it is kept dry. One tablespoon of Neri should be gradually added to 2 gallons of water and stirred vigorously. Let the mixture sit overnight and add to vat accordingly. 50gr Jar.
